Kate Moss Mistakes David Cameron for a plumber

by astronut @ Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 - 08:34:45 am

This is a dead funny article.

David Cameron met Kate Moss at a charity dinner and he started talking to her about flood damage because he couldn't think of anything else to say. She said he seemed like a useful sort of guy and asked for his phone number.

PS I would have known what to say. Something like, I'm training to be a plumber and I want to visit your house to look at your plumbing arrangements. :) :)

strippergram pays visit to school

by astronut @ Friday, Nov. 09, 2007 - 07:43:53 am

A pupil at Nottingham school was sent a strippergram for his birthday, but it is believed this was a mistake; he should have been sent a singing - gram. So this stippergram, dressed as a police woman, went and performed her act in front of the whole class. Was she stupid or what?

I find it quite funny actually. Apparently, no one was suspended over this incident; she can't have taken them off then. :D

Did Barry George kill Jill Dando?

by astronut @ Monday, Nov. 05, 2007 - 09:49:38 am

Barry George is having a second attempt today to clear his name over his conviction of killing Jill Dando.

In the original trial, the sole evidence linking him directly to the murder was one tiny speck of gunshot residue, only visible through a powerful microscope, found in a pocket of a jacket he said he was wearing on the day.Other evidence was presented: an eyewitness who placed him on Dando's street at the time, although this witness said he had longish hair; his hairdresser was adamant that George never had long hair, but this did not come out in court.

In his appeal today he will argue that the particle of gunshot residue could have got into his jacket subsequently; for example, the jacket was taken to a police station where firearms had been tested and was put on a mannequin for photographs to be taken. He says there is more than a slim possibility that the residue could have arisen from contamination after the event.

What do people think to all this?

Are energy saving measures effective?

by astronut @ Thursday, Nov. 01, 2007 - 08:01:33 am

This article on the BBC news explains that our energy saving measures such as more efficient cars and low energy light bulbs might not be as effective as we think.

But it illustrates that we need to do more than just save energy to cut down emissions.

I now deeply believe that the only truly effective way to reduce emissions significantly, is by introducing compulsory birth control measures, and putting a brake on economic growth. For example, stop any new buildings being built unless they are to replace old ones; stop building new roads; put a quota on how many cars can be manufactured; introduce heavy taxes and reduce benefits for families who have more than one child.
