boring blogging

by astronut @ Sunday, Mar. 30, 2008 - 11:02:52 pm

My last blog only got one comment. Come on you boring farts out there, get some comments written for goodness sake. (I'm pissed by the way, and i'll soon be taking some anti depressants which is not recommended) but I'll do it anyway, and fall into a deep slumber and wake up tomorrow to write another blog which not many people might comment on.

Your's boringly,

David (hic)

Humans have two stomachs

by astronut @ Saturday, Mar. 29, 2008 - 06:21:20 pm

Hi folks,

My day today has been great so far. I have been on a treasure hunt in Huddersfield town centre, have got some cut price second hand CD's in mint condition from a specialist shop and now I have just gone to a friends house. We are going to go out for a meal this evening; probably a carvery where we will absolutely stuff our faces. XX(

By the way, if you are wondering how on earth we manage to eat a sweet after stuffing our faces with savoury stuff, the answer is that we have two stomachs, a savoury stomach and a sweet stomach. When the savoury stomach is full, we can then go on to fill the sweet stomach! :D

mp3 players. Has anyone got any comments?

by astronut @ Friday, Mar. 28, 2008 - 10:03:10 am

I know that Mp3 players have been on the market for many years, but have not really payed much attention to them. I have always been a bit of a purist, thinking that CD's played on a good hi fi system at home cannot be beaten. Well perhaps they can't but I've been thinking recently that I ought to loosen up a bit and catch up with modern technology. I've been looking at MP3 and MP4 players with a view to buying one, more as a play thing because I need some retail therapy to take my mind off things. MP4 players are generally more expensive but they can also display photographs and play video material. However I would not be tempted to try and watch a whole film on such a small screen. I am a member of Which on line, and have been looking at their best buys. One of the Sonys seems to come near the top for sound quality and ease of use, with a decent display. I wonder if anyone out there had any comments about these players. Have they changed your life, or are they just a toy which ends up in the cupboard after a few weeks?

computer acting a little strangely.

by astronut @ Friday, Mar. 28, 2008 - 09:45:45 am

Every so often my computer has been doing something strange, Once it kept trying to open an infinite number of windows on my desk top; I had to go into task manager and shut things down, but even then it was a struggle as lots of task manager windows kept opening up, and I had to use task manager to shut itself down!

And then in my bookmarks for Firefox browser, my bookmark for this blog has stopped working properly, so i have had to recreate it. Is there something spooky going on, is my computer haunted, or is there a perfectly rational explanation?

snooker and astronomy

by astronut @ Wednesday, Mar. 26, 2008 - 12:04:34 am

Hi there,

I went to a local snooker centre with some friends today. We played pool on a large table for an hour, and then we played a game of snooker. I haven't played snooker for many many years, and i had forgotton how large the table is. When you see snooker being played on television, it does not convey the size of the table. I liken the game to astronomy, where you are viewing distant celestial objects (the balls). I could have done with a pair of binoculars!

my new mobile

by astronut @ Monday, Mar. 24, 2008 - 12:15:18 am

I thought i would indulge in a bit of retail therapy, so I have bought a new pay as you go mobile phone to replace my old Nokia. It's an 'old' Motorola V3 of 1994 vintage, and I'm chuffed to bits with it. It's a 'RAZR' design, and to hold it in your hands and use it is almost as pleasurable as sex. In fact I probably will not actually place any calls, i'll just play with it and get to know it like a lover.

My anxiety, and the mile high club

by astronut @ Thursday, Mar. 20, 2008 - 10:15:40 am

Hello folks, I know it's a heck of a long time since I have blogged. Various things have been going on in my life which has caused me extended periods of stress, and as a result ended up suffering from alot of anxiety. I won't bore you all with the details, but suffice to say I am glad to report that I am getting better and I may be blogging a bit more often than four times a year. But it's good to be back.

I thought I would make up for my absence by commenting on some things that have been happening since I was last here.

I think Heather Mills has got far too much money off Paul. I mean, how much money does it take to raise a child up to the age of 18? The judges comments in the case has cast light on her true personality, and I think her speech outside the court was embarassing. A few months ago she had an outburst against the press on GMTV, and then outside the court she launched into giving people advice on how to get divorced. Well excuse me, but I think that is not the appropriate place and time to give such advice, and anyway, if people took her advice, they would be trying to screw as much money as possible out of their partner.

Regarding Madeline McCann, I've noticed that her parents have been given a big payment from a newspaper in a libel case. They are going to put this money towards the find Madeline campaign fund. Unfortunately they will have to face the likely fact that no matter how much they pour into this campaign, it won't increase the chances of her being found. She has been missing for so long now that it is unlikely she will materialise.

And last but not least, the BBC news website (what would I do without it) wonders if sex on a plane in flight is legal or not. Once air steward commented that in the past ten years he has not personally witnessed any sex acts on a plane. Enough is said about passengers having sex on planes, but I wondered if the flight crew have ever indulged on the flight deck. If they have it might explain why on occasions the plane bobs up and down and we all have to put on our seatbelts; after all space in front of all those controls and the joystick is very limited! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6360869.stm
